A corner room with a Northern view. Nice!
I can see the Centennial Olympic Park (COP) from my room on the
18th floor.
And just to the West, the World of Coca Cola (WoCC). Coca Cola was
invented
in Atlanta in 1886.
So I decide to visit the WoCC. On the way...
The Olympic rings fountain at the COP.
Baron Pierre De Coubertin plaque.
A statue of De Coubertin.
Pemberton plaque.
And the man.
WoCC entrance. Giant coke bottles representing the global
domination of Coke.
After the main entrance, you go into a small theater for a quick animated
movie about what happens when a coin is placed into a coke machine.
A long commercial was made out of it. Then you are dumped into the
colorful entrance to the exhibits.
This is where the Cola Bear meets you. You can have your picture taken
with him if you want to stand in line. He's taller when he stands...
Coca Cola signs from the past.
Delivery vehicle.
Vending machines of the past.
Coca Cola has been a long time sponsor of the Olympic Games since
1928. They are active with the Torch Relay program.
Coke Olympic trading pins.
The are things that have been made with Coke products.
In the Tasting exhibit, you could taste Coke products from around
the world. This one is from South America. I tried the Delaware Punch,
the second from the left. It tasted like watered down punch with no fizz.
Asia. I tasted Smart Apple on the right end from China. It was pretty
good, more fizz than normal. I also tried Vegita Beta from Japan, second
from the left. Very good and fizzy!
Africa. I had Stoney from Tanzania. I didn't like it.
Europe. I kept hearing people talking about Beverly - on the right end
from Italy. So I tried it, I couldn't drink it, nasty stuff.
And from America. Diet Coke, tastes just right!
Back to the hotel...
The Omni Hotel from the COP. I'm in the North tower, the tall one,
on the 18th floor.
Along the walkway in the COP, I saw pictograms. This slab explains them.
The one I was standing near - the Archer. I happen to be a
Sagittarius. Coincidence, I think not!
Later that evening...
The COP is lit up in Christmas splendor.
Some of the Atlanta skyline at night. The bright star is really the moon
but looks much brighter with a timed exposure.
And looking West you can see the WoCC and more of the Atlanta
skyline.
