Nov 20, 2008 - Leaving Foxwoods, Ledyard, Connecticut

arriving Gaithersburg, MD

Start of day: 38378
End of day: 38747
Day Total: 369 miles
Total Trip: 476 miles
States: (6) Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland
Gas Prices: $2.19 near Foxwoods

I left Foxwoods about noonish. Foxwoods wasn't too kind on me, they took all my money I came to play with. I took a picture
of the resort, but they took that too. The drive down wasn't that bad. It was still very cold when I left. I can honestly say I was
glad to be heading South. I only ran into a little precipitation, mixed with snow, just South of New York City. Other than that, the
traffic congestion was okay.

Interesting side note (at least to me.) I filled up with gas near Foxwoods, then was able to drive the whole way down on a single
tank. I get about 18 or 19 MPG with the Jeep. As I traveled toward Maryland, I mentally calculated the distance remaining to
travel against the time my GPS said I would arrive and determined I could make it without having to stop for gas. It was close,
I pulled in to my brother's driveway with the onboard vehicle display showing I had 4 miles of gas left in the tank. Almost the
first question I asked was "how far to the nearest gas station?" Two miles! Close enough for me.

Also, one of the best things I did before I left was to replace the tires on my Jeep. The old tires, the OEM Goodyear Wranglers,
in my opinion, were not worth their weight in crap. A little rain and they turn into ice skates. Running down the highway, they made
so much noise you could hardly carry on a conversation inside the cab. I replaced them with Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts. What a
great difference. Solid tire with great traction and so very quiet. Awesome tires!
